Proud to partner with Leicester Pride for two more years

We are thrilled to announce that we have partnered with Leicester Pride for two further years following its initial partnership in 2021 embracing representation within the community.

This announcement comes during Pride Month 2022 as supporting underrepresented groups is a core part of the business’ strategy and we are proud to be a part of Leicester Pride.

Colleagues will be proud to join the march on Saturday 3rd of September 2022 alongside their friends and families, showing solidarity to the community.

With Leicester being home to our Head Office, a number of dealerships and home to many colleagues, we felt it was appropriate to support Leicester Pride the community in which it works.

Simon Harrison, Service Advisor at Sytner Nottingham and Leicester Pride Event Manager, said: “We are all so very pleased and grateful for Sytner Group to agree a two year sponsorship with us.

“It’s fantastic that Sytner Group are such a huge supporter of Leicester Pride, not only through the event but also through its commitment to diversity and inclusion within the business and the advances it has made in the past year.

“We are really looking forward to working with Sytner Group again this year and in the future to create a more diverse workplace for colleagues and a more accepting and progressive community in Leicester.”

The annual event is attended by more than 10,000 every single year with more than 2,000 of those taking part in the vibrant parade through the city.

The event is free to attend and aims to celebrate equality and diversity in Leicester. The family event will feature live singers and dance acts from across the country, there will also be the best local DJs in attendance as well as a variety of food and drinks available for attendees to sample and enjoy as well as rides and games provided by Billy Bates & Sons.

Jodie Williams, Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Sytner Group, said: “We are continuing to build on creating a working culture that is diverse and reflective of the communities in which we work, however, we still do have a long way to go.

“Being a part of Leicester Pride for two more years really does reflect what Sytner Group is all about as a business. I believe it’s very important for colleagues to be supported to be their best self at work and to be recognised and valued.”

The business has recently created a range of different initiatives for colleagues to feel seen and hears at work including network groups, where our colleagues can get together and discuss important issues and ideas in the workplace.

The network groups that colleagues can get involved in include: gender, ethnicity, LGBTQ+, disability, the shared shelf and a communications and engagement working group.

Four key themes in the business include: representation, cultures, capability and customer inclusion.

We are proud to develop colleagues’ understanding and environments so that all members of the team can thrive and contribute their best selves to work.
