Need to know
1
The Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate Volante is the Convertible version within the DBS 770 series, which is Aston Martin's homage and signature sign-off to the DBS lineup of vehicles.
2
In Janurary 2023, the Aston Martin DBS 770 Ultimate Volante was the most powerful production Aston Martin ever built with an uprated V12 engine which delivers outputs of 770PS and 900Nm of torque.
3
To celebrate DBS, 770 Ultimate Volante has been extensively re-engineered for enhanced performance, driver engagement and visual drama. Striking changes include a new front splitter and a dramatic horse-shoe vent for improved cooling.
Design
Being an Aston Martin, this enhanced form also had to possess an authentic level of function. Both to provide increased air flow to the radiators, enhancing thermal management and give greater visual road presence. Drawing increased air flow through the engine radiators, the clamshell bonnet features a dramatic ‘horse-shoe’ engine vent and a new front splitter integrates two new outboard vents. Together these serve to enhance cooling and echo the design signatures of previous DBS and V12 engine models.
Exterior
Carved like a stallion. The DBS 770 Ultimate Volante meets you with a racers nose. An iconic horseshoe bonnet and snarling front splitter make a growling introduction. The retracted roof wraps you in the outside world. Leaving in luxury. Every retreat and treat.
Lifting the Lid
The GT’s finest accessory. The retractable roof. Stroked onto each Volante, the roof canopy is reinforced with eight layers of insulation to engrave comfort on every drive. From head to toe. Cut to a class-leading stack height of 260mm and enveloped to allow a beautifully smooth rear profile and maximised luggage capacity. With the key to opening yourself to more senses taking 14 seconds to open and 16 seconds to close. Driving au natural has never been so finely manufactured.
Horseshoe Bonnet, a Racing Nose
A furious greeting. Built to deceive with the iconic horseshoe bonnet teasing a wider and more muscular stance. Made to intimidate. Born to sprint from a stockier position. All without impacting the aerodynamics.
The 21" Ultimate Wheel, Jewellery in Motion
Encased in symmetry. The DBS 770 Ultimate Volante comes embellished with Aston Martin Valkyrie and Victor inspired lightweight honeycomb wheels. Encrusted in Satin black or silver. Cut to the sweet shape of a 21” crown. Every roll built by a jeweller’s hand and a racer's heart.
Tech
Inside, the DBS 770 Ultimate Volante delights with a dazzling array of fresh design treatments that set it apart, while retaining the instantly recognisable cabin environment of the current DBS. Signifying its halo positioning, DBS 770 Ultimate Volante comes with Sports Plus Seats trimmed in full semi-aniline leather and Alcantara, featuring a ‘fluted’ quilt and perforation pattern as standard. Aston Martin’s performance seat can also be selected as an option. A bespoke trim split has been introduced, with contrast colours linked to welt and stitching, along with a tailor-made strap and buckle badge featuring a laser etched DBS 770 Ultimate Volante logo found on the centre arm rest. Carbon Fibre Gearshift paddles are also fitted as standard.
Engines & Performance
DBS 770 Ultimate Volante features a ferocious iteration of Aston Martin’s quad-cam 60-deg 5.2-litre V12 engine. Now developing 770PS at 6500rpm and a colossal 900Nm of torque from just 1800rpm to 5000rpm, propelling DBS 770 Ultimate Volante to a top speed of 211mph, this magnificent engine benefits from modified air and ignition pathways together with a 7% increase in maximum turbo boost pressure. Precise tuning of power and torque curves gives the driver a sense of boundless performance, with an intoxicating blend of exceptional response, outstanding in-gear acceleration and the authentic V12 soundtrack.
Power is fed through a ZF 8-speed automatic transmission and mechanical Limited-Slip Differential (LSD) mounted at the rear of the car. In addition, DBS 770 Ultimate receives a unique transmission calibration to enhance shift speeds and driver interaction, contributing to a truly connected driving experience. Such is the inherent capability of Aston Martin’s Carbon Ceramic Braking (CCB) system that the DBS 770 Ultimate uses the same 410mm x 38mm front discs and 360mm x 32mm rear as fitted to the DBS.
Statistics
Aston Martin’s 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine. Set low and and as far back in the chassis as possible to optimise the centre-of-gravity and weight distribution, this high-performance engine develops 770PS at 6500rpm and 900Nm from 1800-5000rpm. Detailed tuning of the V12 together with a new exhaust strategy with active valves and quad tail pipes ensures DBS Coupe has a commanding and powerful sound character, particularly in the more aggressive dynamic modes, while retaining a level of refinement and civility that compliments its role as the consummate Super GT.
