The most dynamic Range Rover Sport ever. Pushing boundaries with world-first technology, including 6D Dynamics air suspension and ultra-lightweight 23-inch carbon wheels. Range Rover Sport SV Edition One is now ready for delivery
The new Range Rover Sport is based on JLR’s latest, flexible architecture that allows for the broadest range of versions ever seen with this SUV. It means that alongside core combustion-powered versions, there will be long-range plug-in hybrids and an electric model due on sale in 2024.
Slotting in the Range Rover line-up beneath the full-size model, and above the Velar, the Sport brings incredible desirability thanks to its assertive modern design and impressively well-refined interior.
The new Range Rover Sport boasts an assertive, modern design that aims to give the model the appearance that it’s poised and ready. As the most dynamic model to wear the Range Rover badge, the Sport gets a muscular appearance owing to its performance basis.
With its wide wheelarches and bold front-end design, the Range Rover Sport is certainly a car that stands out on the road, and can be enhanced further by optional alloys measuring up to 23 inches, and various gloss black elements throughout the design.
The Range Rover Sport is packed with the latest technology and always has the ability to constantly improve courtesy of software over-the-air updates. The new 13.1-inch touchscreen is the real highlight, bringing enhanced functionality compared to the previous car. It also boasts Amazon Alexa voice recognition as standard.
A technology highlight on the flagship SV model is its new ‘6D Dynamics’, which is a world-first hydraulic interlinked air suspension system. Boasting pitch and roll control, it maintains a near-level stance even in the most extreme acceleration, braking and cornering.
The Range Rover Sport is available with a great range of engines, including petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid, which we’ll look at in a separate section. All use an eight-speed ZF automatic gearbox, with four-wheel-drive as standard.
Starting with diesel, the mild-hybrid D300 kicks things off, using a 296bhp 3.0-litre unit with light electrical assistance. If you want a bit more power, the D350 takes the power up to 345bhp.
Moving to petrol, there is the P400, a 395bhp 3.0-litre diesel and then at the top of the tree is the SV model’s monstrous P635 powerplant – a monstrous 626bhp 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, which is the most powerful ever to be fitted to a Range Rover. It allows for some exceptional performance, with 0-60mph possible in just 3.6 seconds and where permitted it’s possible to reach a top speed of 180mph.
