Be inspired to start your career.
Meet Noa Venter, Sales Apprentice at Sytner Maidenhead.
How long have you been an apprentice at Sytner BMW/MINI? I have been an apprentice for just over 3 months now at Sytner.
What made you apply for an apprenticeship role with Sytner? I’ve wanted to get into sales for a while. I was in the trade previously as an Apprentice Technician at VW although I didn’t enjoy it greatly, so when I saw the opportunity arise and I fancied a change.
What advice would you give to someone looking to apply for an apprenticeship? If you’re thinking about doing an apprenticeship in a field you’re passionate about, I do definitely recommend it. While learning and getting first hand experience, you’re also getting paid.
What does an average day look like for you? An average day for me consists of doing daily showroom checks to make sure the showroom is up to standard, e.g. spec stands being correct and beside every car, plates and sidelights are switched on as well as keeping the place tidy. I often go on test drives with customers for my colleagues and fuel cars that about to be handed over. I try shadow the Sales Executives with their appointments as much as I can. I may be asked to help do a part exchange appraisal for a customer as well.
What is your favourite part about your current role? Being very passionate about cars I’d have to say my favourite thing about my role is being surrounded by brand new BMW’s. As well as that though, all my colleagues are kind and very helpful when I have a question. It’s an all-round healthy environment to be in and I enjoy coming in each day.
