Meet the Apprentice.
Be inspired to start your career.
Meet Umair Mustakin, Apprentice Service Advisor at Sytner Harold Wood.
How long have you been an apprentice at Sytner BMW/MINI? I’ve been an apprentice at the Sytner Group for 6 months now.
What made you apply for an apprenticeship role with Sytner? I’ve always loved BMW and what they stand for so this pushed me to take part in the apprenticeship. Growing up in the local area Sytner has always been a company I have admired, when I saw the online advert I knew it was right for me.
What advice would you give to someone looking to apply for an apprenticeship? Go for it, do not be afraid. From the day I walked into the business I have never looked back, I work with a fantastic team and I am pushing myself to levels which I never thought I could achieve.
What does an average day look like for you? My day starts with me spending the first hour taking part in Hotel Sytner, I am position one which is to be initial welcome into the Drive-through. From there I never know how the day will end as every day is different and I always face a new learning curve and challenges that keeps me on my feet.
What is your favourite part about your current role? The best part of job role is the customers, every customer is a different story so me being able to engage myself with the customer and go to the extra mile to meet the customer’s need and expectations makes every day unique.
What is your greatest achievement? My first customer satisfaction survey which came back with a 10 is definitely my biggest moment. The whole Team got together in a meeting and really celebrated this with me.
