GOVERNMENT GRANTS
Over the next 5 years, ŠKODA is investing £1.8 billion in alternative driving systems and new mobility platforms. By the end of 2022, ŠKODA plan to deliver a number of new iV electrified models to fit their 'Green Future' initiative. With this in mind, the Government are offering a selection of grants making it more affordable for you to own an electric vehicle.
Plug-In vehicle grant of up to £1,500* to buy an electric car.
If you have off-street parking, you can install a wall box charger at home through using the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme. The scheme supports up to 75% of the cost of your home charger, capped at £350** including VAT, off the installation price.
Workplace Charging Scheme*** - If you want to encourage your employees to make the switch to electric, the Government will support £350 of the installation cost for every charge point you install (maximum of 40 chargepoints)
Cars that are zero-emission are exempt from paying Vehicle Excise Duty (VED)
PLUG-IN CAR GRANTS
Plug-in car grants can help you save money by deducting up to £1,500 off the upfront cost of a low-emission vehicle. The amount of grant depends on which category your vehicle is in. Not all low-emission vehicles will get a grant and only vehicles that have been approved by the government are eligible. To qualify for the 'Cars Category' the vehicles have CO2 emissions of less than 50g/km and can travel at least 112km (70 miles) without any emissions at all. The SKODA electric range qualify for the grant:
Skoda Citigo-e iV
Skoda ENYAQ iV 60 Nav – Loft
Skoda ENYAQ iV 60 Nav – Lodge
ROAD TAX SAVINGS
Plug-in hybrids and fully electric vehicles (less than 51g/km of CO₂) are currently exempt for paying VED (in the 20/21 tax year) . As well as this, electric vehicles qualify for the 100% cleaner vehicle discount, which means exemption from the congestion charge and are exempt from the Ultra Low Emission Zone (ULEZ). For the 100% discount, owners will need to register for the scheme.
GRANTS FOR YOUR HOME
The Government offers a grant that supports the cost of the charger for your electric vehicle. If your home has off-street parking, a wall-box can charge your electric vehicle faster than a standard 3-pin domestic plug. The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme supports up to 75% of the cost, capped at £350 including VAT, off the installation price.
