The New Audi A5 Models

Audi is starting a new chapter in its successful mid-size segment with the new A5 family. Thirty years after the first A4, the latest A5 debuts with a sharpened design language and striking proportions. Both the Saloon and Avant body styles embody Audi's sporty design philosophy. The new interior design enhances space and highlights digital displays, while the updated operating concept improves vehicle interaction. The range is completed by efficient, partially electrified engines and exciting S models.

Dynamic and robust exterior design

The redesigned A5 family boasts a powerful and clean design with modified proportions, including a long wheelbase, large wheels, and a low, sporty body that exudes dynamism and premium quality. The Saloon features a compact-looking greenhouse that sweeps back to a coupé-like rear window and ends with a striking spoiler lip on the short tailgate. The new rear hatch design enhances access to the luggage compartment, creating a unique Saloon concept for Audi. The Avant's taut roofline flows into a seamless roof spoiler, emphasising its dynamic side view with steeply raked D-pillars.

The front showcases a wide, flatter Singleframe grille with a three-dimensional honeycomb structure, flanked by slim, precise headlights for a focused expression. The flush hood, integrated "soft nose," and pronounced blisters over the wheels echo the classic Audi Ur Quattro. The rear combines sporty design with intelligent technology, featuring a three-dimensional light strip, a modern bumper with a dark diffuser, and high-quality rectangular exhaust tips.

Innovative advancements in digital lighting

The Audi A5 family features advanced LED daytime running lights in the front and second-generation digital OLED rear lights in the rear on S5 only. Each digital OLED panel includes approximately 60 segments, transforming them into a dynamic display at the rear of the S5 model. This setup facilitates car-to-x communication, enhancing road safety with features like the new communication light. Dynamic lighting effects during vehicle unlocking and departure reflect the Audi light DNA, emphasising aesthetic motion. The active digital light signature further enhances the sense of dynamism. Additionally, Edition 1 and S5 models in the UK offer three-dimensional headlights with digital light signatures, while digital light signatures for the rear lights are exclusive to the S5.

The new interior blends technology with comfort

The interior design of the new Audi A5 is defined by four key elements. Firstly, it features a human-centric design, catering consistently to user needs. Secondly, the Digital Stage prominently positions Audi MMI displays for both the driver and front passenger. Material Driven Design ensures a spacious feel and high comfort levels. The clear layout and intuitive operation provide Visual Clarity in all situations, complemented by the optional dynamic interaction light (standard on S5) that enhances interaction with occupants.

The slim, curved Audi MMI panoramic display utilises OLED technology and includes the Audi virtual cockpit with an 11.9-inch visible screen and the 14.5-inch MMI touch display. For front passengers, Audi offers the 10.9-inch MMI front passenger display (available on Edition 1 spec), seamlessly integrated into the dashboard design. Additionally, the new A5 offers an optional, advanced head-up display (standard on S5) for controlling vehicle and infotainment functions directly.
