Meet the Apprentice.
Be inspired to start your career.
Meet Charlotte Rush, Bodyshop Apprentice at Sytner Chigwell.
How long have you been an apprentice at Sytner BMW/MINI? I have been an apprentice since July 2019.
What made you apply for an apprenticeship role with Sytner? When I was looking into a career for myself, I knew I wanted to get into something with cars. Searching through all the apprenticeship roles that were available at the time, the BMW Sytner apprenticeship had so many job perks and company benefits. Its such a great company to work for, so I knew that it was what I was looking for.
What advice would you give to someone looking to apply for an apprenticeship? Go for it! Honestly it's it's a brilliant gateway into the trade and you learn on the job! So you're also earning while you learn.
What does an average day look like for you? An average day is hardworking, I've just started level 3 and I do everything that a qualified paint technician would do. I'm doing my own jobs and getting all the experience I need for my college work.
What is your favourite part about your current role? My favourite part is the job satisfaction. Knowing that I've fixed that car and especially when you see it later on, on the roads, it makes you feel good. Also I love painting, so when I've got a big job to do I know I'm going to enjoy it.
What is your greatest achievement? My greatest achievement so far has been getting into the apprentice of the year finals with Bodyshop Magazine. With the winner being announced in April!
