Abbi Johnston, Corporate Hub Manager, answers our Women in Business questions.
How long have you worked for Sytner BMW/MINI? I have worked for Sytner for 4 years.
How long have you been in your current role? I have been in my current role for 1 year and 4 months. I have progressed from starting as a Corporate Sales Administrator to Senior into my currently role as Corporate Hub Manager.
What is your favourite part about your current role? Working with the team and seeing the department grow from strength to strength, especially during difficult times within the industry.
What motivates you in the morning? I always start the day with a “new day” mind set to ensure I am as productive as possible to avoid any bad habits forming.
Three words to describe yourself? Resilient, honest and reliable.
What is your greatest achievement? Continuing to successfully grow and maintain the Corporate Hub team during COVID/lockdown whilst progressing within Sytner all whilst raising my 6 year old daughter.
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to be in your role? Always be the best you can be, caring about your role remember what you put in you get out!
How have you seen the Automotive industry landscape change and evolve to engage more women? The industry has definitely become much more diverse, Sytner value their employees as an individual, not male or female.
Top tip for how you organise your days? Lists, lists and more lists! Every morning I start with a To-Do List as this ensures I keep up to date throughout the day and keeps me within deadline dates.
Top tip for working in the automotive industry? Stay strong show your confidence. Believe in yourself and you will reap the benefits of working hard.
