Jessica Dennahay, Brand Manager at Sytner Coventry, answers our Women in Business questions.
How long have you worked for Sytner BMW/MINI? Almost 8 years.
How long have you been in your current role? I have been a Brand Manager for 1 year 2 months.
What is your favourite part about your current role? Working with the team and seeing them develop their skills.
What motivates you in the morning? No two days are the same, so thinking about what lies ahead and getting the team energised for the day and motivated to find a sale.
Three words to describe yourself? Driven, reliable and friendly.
What is your greatest achievement? Finishing in the top 10 my second year in sales and also completing my Master’s degree.
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to be in your role? Work at 100%+ every day, go above and beyond expectations and make yourself proud of your work and achievements.
How have you seen the Automotive industry landscape change and evolve to engage more women? When I started in sales April 2014, I was the only female in the sales team, it was a very male dominated industry. Over this time I have seen an increase of women across different departments of the business. It’s great to see more diversity across teams.
Top tip for how you organise your days? Have a diary and make a list for everything no matter how big or small.
Top tip for working in the automotive industry? Be adaptable and diverse, no two days are the same, no two customers are the same. Come to work with a positive mental attitude and ready to attack any challenge.
