Mercedes Cataldo, Senior Sales Administrator and Health & Safety Co-Ordinator, answers our Women in Business questions.
How long have you worked for Sytner BMW/MINI? I joined as a Sales Executive back in September 2004, 17 years & 5 months ago!
How long have you been in your current role? I have been Digital Reception Team Manager since July 2020.
What is your favourite part about your current role? The DRT was born out of lockdown so has certainly had its fair share of challenges therefore building a strong, adaptable, resilient team has been key whilst delivering on customer satisfaction.
What motivates you in the morning? Wanting to make a difference and to help those around me be the best version of themselves.
Three words to describe yourself? Approachable, passionate and loyal.
What is your greatest achievement? Other than my 3 fabulous children it would have to be my progress within my career at Sytner.
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to be in your role? Always be prepared to explore new ideas and focus on the team around you.
How have you seen the Automotive industry landscape change and evolve to engage more women? When first joining it was a very male dominated environment however during the last 17 years there has been an increase in woman within all roles of the business, from female technicians to Heads of Business.
Top tip for how you organise your days? A to do list is a must but don’t be afraid to deviate!
Top tip for working in the automotive industry? Be firm, fair and believe in yourself – hard work pays off!
