STRENGTH, SUCCESS AND PERFORMANCE
The new Touareg R eHybrid with plug-in hybrid technology is the most powerful Volkswagen of all time. The eHybrid has a V6 turbocharged engine, an electric drive motor and a lithium-ion battery with a net energy content of 14.3 kWh. Power transmission is performed by an 8-speed automatic gearbox with Tiptronic, the standard 4MOTION all-wheel drive system ensures the best possible contact between the car and the road.
Following the all-electric ID.R record-breaking race car, it brings absolute performance from the race track onto the road with passion and motorsport in its blood. The new Touareg R features "e-mode" which means when the battery is sufficiently charged, you will always start in all-electric "e-mode" up to a speed of 135 km/h. The interaction of the combustion engine and electric drive is optimised in hybrid mode, particularly when route guidance is active. The kickdown function always activates the V6 turbocharged engine, this is then additionally boosted by the full electric power. Maximum system power of 340 kW (462 PS) plus maximum system torque of 700 Nm equals maximum driving dynamics.
R STYLING
The Touareg R has a sporty atmosphere, you can choose your preferred background lighting from 30 different colours to immerse the interior in a customised light atmosphere. The elegant details of the interior features the sporty diamond stitching, also on the door trims, and the piping in the seat cushion bolsters in Sepang Blue. The interior is equipped as standard with ergo-Comfort seats upholstered in Puglia natural leather tanned with olive leaf extract as well as the aluminium Silver Wave decorative trim.
The digital instrument cluster forms a curved glass surface together with the Infotainment system screen - the standard Innovision cockpit. Equipped with a 12" digital cockpit and the 15" touchscreen, the Infotainment system can be operated with maximum convenience without switches. The R-model is also equipped with the latest generation of the multifunctional sports steering wheel in perforated leather. The R-logo, touch operation, shift paddles, a button for optimum "Travel Assist" and steering wheel heating are all included.
THE NEW FACE OF PERFORMANCE
A shining and unmistakably distinctive appearance – the optional exterior colour Lapiz Blue stands for Volkswagen R. The newly designed bumpers and elegant black elements such as the radiator grille, air intakes, trim strips and exterior mirror housings give the Touareg R a more sporty look. Even the design trim strips on the front wings and the doors underline the motorsport ambitions. The R-logo in the radiator grille and on the boot lid ensure that the most powerful Volkswagen of all time is unmistakable.
A sporty wheel range completes the R-look, the Touareg R is equipped as standard with 22-inch “Estoril“ black with contrasting diamond turned finish alloy wheels in 5-Y spoke design. The 22-inch “Estoril“ Gloss black alloy wheels in 5-Y spoke design are a special highlight as an option designed exclusively for the Touareg R. Its elegant, almost silence and with zero local emissions in towns and cities, powerful and dynamic outside.
